RMHC is able to bring comfort and care to thousands of families Australia-wide, largely thanks to the generosity of like-minded businesses and individuals who provide significant financial, in-kind and volunteering support year-on-year. During the most challenging of years our National Corporate Partners stepped up to show their support and for that we are eternally grateful.
Impact Report 2020
Steggles Charity Nest
Going way above and beyond
In 2020, we gave our partner Steggles something to celebrate — our RMHC Heart Award. Steggles Charity Nest’s support means so much to us, and this year the company has gone above and beyond in its efforts to ensure our families and children are better together. Regardless of COVID-19 restrictions and the impacts on their own business, the Steggles team has been a rock of support to our Mission through fundraising and gracious financial donations, as well as product donations across our Chapters: they’ve even cooked tasty meals for our families through their Host a Roast and Money Can’t Buy events — what more could we ask? To all at Steggles, we say thank-you for another incredible year of giving!
A Power of Good
APG Workforce brings an incredibly dedicated and passionate network of supporters to our RMHC Chapters. This year their work has meant so much to so many of our families across the country. Whether it’s been hand-delivered meals, providing hand sanitisation units, or even coordinating the installation of solar panels on selected Ronald McDonald Houses via their consultancy with AGL Australia, the team at APG Workforce has been a power of good for all! The enthusiasm, commitment and care the entire APG Workforce shows us consistently goes beyond our expectations and is something we all applaud and cherish.
Understanding our Mission and knowing the importance of our families and their children remaining connected is the heart and soul of our partnership with Ingenia Communities. In 2020, whether through their own challenges of bushfires or COVID-19, their support has been unwavering. This year saw Ingenia Communities donate an amazing $50,000 to RMHC which equals over 900 hours of tuition needs for the Ronald McDonald National Learning Program. Their giving didn’t stop there: their donations of colouring-in tote bags and handmade soft toys helped make our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and Houses a genuine home away from home. To close off the year, the team at Ingenia pulled together their resources, additional financial support and suppliers to help renovate Ronald McDonald House Randwick communal bathrooms providing modern, clean and practical facilities to our families. From your residents to your staff to your Holiday Parks, thank you to all at Ingenia Communities.
Throughout 2020 Asaleo Care continued to show their incredible commitment to our families, allowing them to focus their attention and love on what matters the most — their seriously ill child. Through extraordinary efforts and commitment Asaleo Care has helped to ensure that all our Ronald McDonald Houses have been fully stocked with ample reserves of toilet paper and paper towels. Their efforts in 2020 have been a continuation of their long-standing support of RMHC — since 2018 our proud partner has donated over 200,000 rolls of toilet paper across all 18 Ronald McDonald Houses and 19 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, helping to keep over 30,000 families with seriously ill children comfortable and safe. In doing so, they have eased one less operational cost and stress for us all, especially during the panic buying of toilet paper stock in communities due to COVID-19.
A look inside the support of our National Corporate Partners across the country
RMHC Australia has been lucky enough to receive the amazing support of National Partners for several years, assisting with every facet of our Charity. With their combined resource and dedicated employees, these organisations have shown how they can truly make a difference.
The delivery and supply of cleaning and kitchen products have been essential for maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for the 36,000 families we have supported this year. Thank-you Clorox, Ecolab and Martin Brower for your support during 2020 — a year none of us will, forget.
Supporting our Programs
The operational costs to run our Programs continue to grow each year. Our dedicated and passionate Corporate Partners are always there to help ensure our doors remain open, providing a home away from home and sanctuary for seriously ill children and their families. Thank you to AbbVie Foundation, Aryzta, Coca Cola South Pacific & Amatil, Findex Community Fund, Hyundai Help for Kids & Sealy of Australia for your continue support of our Program needs.
Supporting Innovation and Impact
Reducing power bills for our Ronald McDonald Houses, cooking for families, and supplying basic household pantry items, allows us to look after those families who have to travel long distances to get the treatment they need for their seriously ill child. Thank-you AGL Australia, DELL Asia Pacific, Fresh Food Services & Sonoco Packaging for your dedication, commitment and passion in supporting our Houses and families.
Awards & Recognition
The RMHC Heart and Excellence Awards are presented to Partners for showing exemplary contribution and service to the RMHC System nationally. We also recognise particular Partners for their outstanding support into our Ronald McDonald House Charities Hall of Fame. In 2020, we would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to Amart Furniture, Bosch Home Appliances, Coca Cola South Pacific & Coca Cola Amatil and Steggles Charity Nest for your ongoing support & dedication to RMHC.
